Premature ejaculation. Diagnosing

It is not so easy to diagnose PE and say that it is the main reason why you cannot have longer sex, but PE is usually diagnosed by detailed study of patient’s sexual history and his inability to have longer sex. Thus, we have to establish:

1. How a patient estimates his ejaculatory control and ability to have longer sex. He has two choose between three: good, fair or poor

2. The time when ejaculation happens: Within a minute? Within two minutes?

- a group of men who claim that they ejaculate within 2 minutes estimate themselves as having PE and unable to have longer sex

- a group of men who claim that they ejaculate within more than 2 minutes estimate themselves as not having PE and are able to have longer sex

- PE is generally identified as ejaculation that happens too fast if to regard the wants and needs of both partners and thus the ejaculation time may vary greatly. It is recommended to make two minutes a guideline.

3. That fast ejaculation and inability to have longer sex is frustrating for both partners

4. That rapid ejaculation prevents the patient from getting sexual satisfaction and that he wants to have longer sex

5. If a patient has experienced problems with having longer sex for all his life of whether it is a recent condition and he could have longer sex before.
